Artifact #10

This painting depicts the burial of my grand uncle. Unlike other works for this I used the actual attendees of the funeral, thus making this painting more realistic.

Bonjour. My name is Gustave Courbet. I was born in Ornans, France in 1819. I am a realist painter, meaning I paint the harsh corruptions of life. My greatest accomplishment is "After dinner at Ornans",I believe it was fine work- I earned a gold medal for it! And as for interesting facts? Well, I helped lead the realist movement... Alas I was also imprisoned for my ideas and placement of the Vendôme Column. Au revoir et salut.
